Released in February 1984, the Roland JUNO-106 is a 61-key analog polyphonic synthesizer that has had a significant impact. It is well known for its classic chorus effect, warm, steady sound produced by digitally controlled oscillators (DCOs), and—above all—its innovative use of MIDI for simple control and patch storage. Because of its simplicity and recognizable ’80s sound, it is still a popular instrument.
