Released in 1997, the Roland JP-8000 is a 49-key virtual analog synthesizer. It is well-known for producing a loud, detuned sound with its recognizable “Supersaw” oscillator. It offers a simple, tactile control over its analog modeling engine through a knob-per-function interface. As a result, it was a very important instrument for creating the characteristic soaring leads and lush pads of electronic and trance music from the 1990s.
