How’d you get your start with JH Audio?

I was on tour with Van Halen in 2012, and Jerry Harvey himself was the monitor engineer on that tour. After every show, we’d go back to  the bus or one of the local bars and just hang out. 

That’s where it all started. One night in Arizona, we were sitting at a bar and he said, “Hey, you want to get off the road? I want you to come run L.A. support for me.” I didn’t know a thing about it, but he said, “Come on, I’ll teach you everything.” And he did, and it took off from there. I’ve been with JH Audio for 14 years now, and it’s been a great experience. 

What do you think has made JH Audio such a trusted brand among artists?

The sound quality—No one can beat Jerry’s sound. He’s been an engineer for years, so he knows what people need on the road. When you listen to Jerry’s stuff, you hear the frequencies and the curves. Everything is just timed perfectly. 

Also, our customer service. We are constantly on call. You call, and you’re going to get in touch with someone to get your problem resolved. I myself work 24/7, 365, except on Super Bowl Sunday. That’s the only day I will not answer my phone.

No appointment needed, you can call CenterStaging or email me at Thomas@jhaudio.com. If you’re at CenterStaging, come by the office and we can set you up. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 10am to 6pm. 

If you want to get molds, I can schedule a time with my audiologist. Otherwise the office is always open, you can come in anytime just to hang out or listen to demos and we’ll get it done for you.  

What’s a memorable experience that really sticks out to you?

It was when Marlon and Jackie Jackson came in to demo ears. I have a TV in my office and Jackie looks at me and says, “Can you turn the game on”? And I say, “Heck yeah!” So we sat there the whole day and watched the Warriors, Cavaliers championship game and just talked. That was the best day ever.
